Madhumita is in a genre I have never tried before. The novel revolves around one woman. She is from a village that has been forgotten by the rest of the country. Having been untouched by so called modernisation , it’s a very happy place. Madhumita is sent to the city when she is 10 years old to find a school that will realise her exceptional intelligence. She must one day return to the village and educate the young at a very basic level.
